LED strips, lighting and examples from practice …

Here I will show some details of lighting with LED strips, with practice questions and colleagues’ answers to the same how to improve the quality of lighting with LED lights and strips.

1. Question:
Is there any way to keep the light uniform throughout the LED profile?
Not to be like in Figure 1.

Fig. 1.

Frosted glass was used.

Looking for a solution that will be effective to reduce this effect as in the picture. Requires uniform light no matter whose LED strip is.

A solution is also sought to completely match the light passing through the diffuser, t. As far as the shade can equalize light and is it even possible with shallow aluminum profiles.

Follow-up questions:
– Do you get disturbed by dots or low light?

Practice Experiences and Suggestions and Suggestions:
– It can darken the profile glass but the light is dim.
– There are too many meters of tape on that transformer and voltage drops.
– Where you put it in the corner is what you got, the other features don’t matter. The point is important.
– A deeper profile can be taken and the tape is glued to the outer side.
– Spot lighting. Maybe he wants a plasma impression.
– The solution is a deep channel (11 mm) and an opal cover. Then one line is obtained, not dots.
– It doesn’t always help. It all depends on the tape. See Figure 2.

Fig. 2.

Deep channel and opal cover required.
– Has corner groove, 18mm deep and opal lid.
– There are In profiles with milk glass. Original for LED strip and not expensive. There are lengths of 2 m and 3 m, of different shapes, for corners and even for the floor, see Figure 3.

Fig. 3.

– Aluminum channel with LED cover and LED strip must have multiple LEDs per meter in length. There are usually 120 LED bulbs per 1 m in length.
– Nothing will be accomplished, but power must be supplied from both sides of the lane. + Is brought to the other end to solve the problem.
– Depending on the length of the strip, it can be operated with an L profile so that the LED strip is glued to the side and the LED is illuminated against the wall, so there are no such problems.
– Plastic diffuser or smoke may be used. Although it can be seen here and through the diffuser when the strip is dimmer.
– A higher power strip can also be taken here and the LE diodes are more densely distributed and positioned so that light can be seen indirectly rather than seeing the tape.
– This profile in the picture should be larger so that the lamps are away from this plastic in Figure 4.

FIG. 4. This image shows the LED lighting with indirect illumination of the workspace.

FIG. 5. This picture shows a 7.4 W / m LED strip with a frost plexi cover. The diode is 5050.

– Here, there seems to be no lane and nothing can be adjusted. When buying or ordering tape, it looks at quality, not that it is cheaper. If the tape is longer than 5 m, there are amplifiers that in this case do not lose the light that the tape gives.

FIG. 6. An attempt is made here to obtain this effect shown in this figure. Can it be achieved by using a higher power strip so that the light is uniform throughout the length.

Here is the answer: Osram linear light flex and the desired effect is obtained.
Take a double PCB tape with 120 diodes per meter in length and the problem is solved. Voltage must be supplied from both sides. It can also come from the same power adapter.
Simply put a strip of multiple LED bulbs one meter in length.
It can be solved go and parallel connect to the power source every 2 meters in length of tape.
Also with the highest quality tape that has no losses up to 5 m in length.
To the bottom two figures 7a and 7b. an excellent solution to this problem is presented. Deep profiles, quality LED strip and milk lids were used. Of course, this is also a more expensive solution, but the only one that meets all the requirements. Cheap solutions give poor results, which is unfortunately a common defect because it wants to save more money at the expense of quality

At the end:

With the increase in the length of the strip – the number of LEDs there is a significant decrease in voltage, so that at the other end of the LED strip the voltage can be up to 8 V, which still “lights up” the LEDs but with a significantly diminished light intensity so that in proportion to the length of the strip the light dims . Therefore, it should always be practiced to bring the two-sided power supply, i.e. “+” And “-“, respectively, the conductors from the source are taken to the other – opposite end of the strip, which greatly equalizes the light. Another (special) power supply on the other hand can be added if it is easier and worthwhile. Otherwise, the LED strip in the AL profile with the shade in front and this equalizes the light emitted by the strip into the illuminated space.
