In ’66, my colleagues and I installed and for some time maintained the “Mole” – a milling machine near the Pancevo bridge, where there was a concrete factory and a plant for the production of concrete segments for tunnel lining, from where drilling of the first railway tunnel across Vuk to Rakovica began. . The works were performed by Energoprojekt. It was a sensation, the first mole for drilling tunnels in the Balkans, the newspapers wrote that the management was done from Zeleni Venac from the then Energoprojekt building – the high one where Beobanka was later, and the direction was monitored by lasers. Uh, when the machine came across muddy ground and it was all in the mud and it still had to work, it happened several times because the terrain under the Belgrade route was not the best tested and it was difficult to examine it due to the density of large buildings. Uh, cement mortar, so drilling and grouting the terrain with cement milk both above and below the tunnel route. Water, mud, dust, drafts…. and it has to be done.

Electric locomotive with direct voltage drive from accumulator batteries exports excavated material and brings concrete segments, concrete sleepers and track rails, mounting segments in tunnel walls, immediately and concrete sleepers with railway track, followed by electricians and installing electrical installations. , signaling, etc.

Continuation, ie. extension of the main cable for powering the machine with low voltage is done with prefabricated cables of a certain length with sockets and plugs at the ends of the cable.

Fig. 2. Bringing the extension cable into the tunnel to the place where the extension of the main power cable of the machine is performed.
Fig. 3. Appearance of the laid power cable on the supports on the tunnel wall. The cable is laid so that it can be easily “unwound” as the cutter progresses with digging the tunnel.
Fig. 4. Connection of the cable to the machine by means of industrial plug-in elements in complete waterproof protection.
Fig. 5. Appearance of the laid new main cable for advancing the milling machine. Parts of the electrical installation of the tunnel, the main air supply to the tunnel, water pipes, etc. can also be seen.
